Napanee & District Curling Club

The sport of curling has a rich history in Napanee.  It began in the 1890's on the Napanee River and continued outdoors into the 1920's. Napanee joined the OCA in 1897 and continue to be active under the OCA umbrella. The Napanee and District Curling Club was formed in 1957 and incorporated in 1960 as a non-profit, membership owned club.

The club has grown over the last number years to its present membership of nearly 300 members. Napanee has hosted at least one zone or regional OCA event for the past number of years.  We have also hosted the Business Women Provincial in 1978 and the Elementary School Championship in 1992.  The Club has also provided ice for the Special Olympic Curling and the new Grand Masters.

Napanee Sports Association

Greater Napanee has been home to many accomplished athletes and teams who have been supported by a great community of individuals, organizations and local businesses. The Napanee Sports Association was formed in the fall of 2006 to continue this tradition of sport that the community has built.

The association was established in honour of Richard Dickson and Terry Gray, two dedicated leaders who shared a vision for the future of sports in our community. The aims of the association are to provide financial support to local athletes, teams and sports organizations. Each application will be given equal consideration and respect based on the objectives of our corporation, the Napanee Sports Association.
